The work Synergos does in partnership with its clients has been recognized for excellence by other trade associations. Some of these recognitions have come from the Indiana Society of Association Executives, Meeting Professionals International, and the Fraternity Communications Association.

Each of Synergos AMC’s clients has evolved and grown over the years, thanks to some entrepreneurial thinking on our end. Here are just a few examples of our results.

Growth Strategies:

  1. We launched a foundation and identified an opportunity to grow additional revenue by developing a state-based license plate program. This strategy has led to more than $100,000 in new revenue since 2016 and now provides between $30,000 and $50,000 in annual revenue.
  2. We launched a new sponsorship portal for another client that helped automate the sponsorship process and led to an increase in both cash and in-kind sponsorships.
  3. We’re in the process of launching a merchandise program that will allow several clients to partner with us on the development and sales of merchandise—capturing more of the revenue themselves. One of our team members developed a marketplace store that nets more than $100,000 annually for a client.
  4. We launched a reverse tradeshow program for one of our clients that has built stronger exhibitor loyalty and helped increase sponsorship and exhibitor sales by more than 50% (2018 vs. 2019).

Strategic Planning:

Synergos is in the process of creating a new strategic plan for a client that has involved in depth attitudinal research on membership and creation of a longitudinal survey that will allow the association to track its efforts in programs and services delivery. Through this plan, Synergos will be able to create key performance indicators that will help track evolution, creation and successful ‘sun-setting’ of programs.

Financial Planning:

Synergos recently transitioned two clients—identifying potential financial issues through our discovery and testing process, coupled with recommended audits of financials.

Working with a CPA and meticulously integrating their finances into our system, we have led the clean up process of past years’ financials to more accurately help them understand their financial situation.

Accreditation:

Synergos partnered with a client to implement a CEU tracking system through Accredible which stores digital certificates and easily sends mobile and print ready versions of certificates directly to attendees for them to save and store digitally.

Synergos recently partnered with another association to completely revamp their accreditation program. As part of this process, Synergos staff collaboratively worked with similar accreditation programs and technology partners to streamline the program and use best practices of these other programs to create a process that would feel familiar to the target market while still maintaining a high sense of rigor in the program. Synergos has now integrated this accreditation program further by providing continuing education of this program at partner conferences.

Synergos tracks continuing education and certification through a variety of database systems specific to each client. Synergos assigned staff will actually participate in certain parts of the accreditation from the user side to gain familiarity with the process and its intricacies.

Conferences and Workshops:

In 2020 Synergos led its clients through a wide range of transitions. While this isn’t unique, the fact that 100% of clients met their financial goals through the pivot to a virtual event or were able to move their meetings without serious financial consequence, is an accomplishment we are proud of.

In fact, several of Synergos’s clients have permanently adopted virtual platforms as a way to further engage a wider array of stakeholders at lower costs. At the same time, many of Synergos’s clients have moved back to in-person meetings successfully, achieving results similar to before the pandemic.

Synergos operates using the Entrepreneurial Operating System(TM), a company operating system based off of Jim Collins’ book Good to Great. Our company’s core starts with our Core Values, and continues with our operating plan.

Documenting Processes:

One aspect of this plan is to document, simplify, train and ensure processes are followed by all. We do this for clients internally through a software which allows us to create flow charts and explanations. This is reviewed annually and used for training.
